The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) environmental rules are found at 24 CFR Part 58. HUD is required to implement procedures to make environmental consideration a necessary part of the decision-making process. Evaluations that may be included for any HUD-funded project may include Phase I ESAs, NEPA evaluations through completion of an Environmental Assessment, biological and natural resource evaluations, and 8-Step analyses of environmental impacts. Completion of the Environmental Assessment will include consultation with Native American tribal groups, SHPOs, THPOs, the USFWS, and other state and federal agencies.
