Geophysical Surveys Diablo Green Consulting Geophysical Survey Services includes the most advanced form of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to assist clients in various soil, underground storage tank (UST), property, bridge, pavement, and facility inspection services and structure evaluations. Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) is an inspection method using radio waves to penetrate into pavement, soil or other materials. GPR has been used for several years, and recent advancements allow surveys to be performed at speeds up to 45 mph. This method is used for the nondestructive evaluation (NDE) and nondestructive testing (NDT) of bridge decks, asphalt and concrete pavements, vertical concrete structures, and soil subsurface investigation. GPR can be utilized for conduit/utility detection, pavement (concrete and asphalt) thickness evaluation, air void detection surveys, concrete deterioration surveys, rebar mapping and rebar corrosion surveys. Utility Locating Diablo Green employs a multi-signal transmitter and receiving hardware to locate several types of utilities using passive, radio and direct power frequencies. Utilities that we are able to detect include water, sewer, phone, TV cable, electric or gas. This utility locating service enables us to locate utilities at depths ranging from 12" to 20' feet. UST Location Services Diablo Green Consulting, Inc. conducts surveys for locating USTs using several geophysical detection methods. The most popular methods used to locate USTs are ground penetrating radar (GPR) and electromagnetic (terrain) conductivity (EM). Our experienced field staff has conducted ground penetrating radar (GPR) surveys at numerous sites for locating USTs using a GPR digital control unit and various transducers (antennas). Underground storage tanks can be made of metal or any other material that has different electrical or conductive properties than the surrounding subsurface soils or rocks. Ground penetrating radar operator conducting GPR survey with a 400-MHz antenna, and locations of underground storage tanks (USTs), located using GPR, may be marked and painted on the ground for easy identification. |
